Every year since 2017, Chozen Generation Sierra Leone identifies and decorates the men and women who made some of the most outstanding contributions to the development of Sierra Leone. The TEN MOST OUTSTANDING SIERRA LEONEANS award recognizes exemplary leadership in public service, business, politics, sport, academia, entertainment, journalism, technology/innovation, and advocacy among others. The award prides itself on transparency and meritocracy. The team at CGSL believes that in an era when Sierra Leone is experiencing a dearth of quality leaders, mentors, and role models, it is important to design a credible recognition scheme to award the hardworking Sierra Leoneans who consistently demonstrate excellence and leadership in their various endeavors.

 

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT THE TEN MOST OUTSTANDING SIERRA LEONEANS AWARD

1. So who is eligible for nomination?
Sierra Leoneans. The award is open to all Sierra Leoneans who impressed you with their patriotism,  hard work, excellence, heroism, humanitarianism, talent, and skills can be nominated.
2. Can I nominate the same person multiple times? 
Yes, please feel free to make as many nominations as possible for the same person or for different people.
In addition to the number of nominations, Chozen Generation Sierra Leone and the Award Committee consider other factors before deciding who makes the top 30 shortlists.
3. How is the 30-person shortlist determined?
Once nomination closes, the Chozen Generation Sierra Leone team evaluates all the nominations against a set of criteria, including but not limited to the number and quality of nominations. The details of the highest-scoring nominees are then passed on to an independent Award Committee. The Committee undertakes further screening to determine which nominees make the final list.
4. When is the deadline for nomination?
Nomination closes at a date set by the Award Committee. However, the nomination period should last between 14 and 30 days.

5. So who constitutes the Award Committee?

The Award Committee comprises Eminent Sierra Leoneans, who, in the eyes of Chozen Generation Sierra Leone, have consistently demonstrated honesty, integrity, and professionalism in their various endeavors. The organization establishes a new committee for every round of the award

Chozen Generation Sierra Leone is a registered, youths-focused, non-profit organization in Sierra Leone. We work “To empower youths nationwide through the provision of relevant training opportunities, mentoring, coaching, and support”.
